Why Did I Join Perfectly Posh
Since we’re getting ready to launch the new Fall/Winter Posh Paper I figured now would be a great time to share my reason for joining Posh…or my “Why.” I am asked pretty frequently why I joined Perfectly Posh and my story is one of purpose and passion. Check out my video where I’ll tell you all about my “Why Posh” or read about it below. 🙂
In January 2011 my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 malignant melanoma. During his treatment I began to investigate the ingredients in the products we use on our skin. Through my research I found that the products I had been using – because they were inexpensive or I thought they smelled/felt good – included ingredients that I really didn’t want to be using. The products had parabens like petroleum or mineral oil in them and were fragranced with phthalates (artificial fragrances). I became more selective with the products I was using but Perfectly Posh wasn’t even a company yet.
Fast Forward to Fall 2013
I attended a direct sales party that a friend was hosting and while I wasn’t drawn to that company, I was reminded of the extra income that direct sales can bring.
I teach kindergarten through 5th grade music and at the time my husband and I were just beginning to start a family. Tim works pretty late in the evening several nights a month and I thought maybe this would be a good time to look for a company that wasn’t well known in my geographical area. I could get my business running smoothly before we had kids and make extra money for diapers or daycare once they arrived. I did a few web searches and I’m sure Perfectly Posh showed up a couple of times but I just saw skincare and dismissed it.
At some point, I looked more into the company and I had my lightbulb moment. These products have quality ingredients, no harmful additives, and attractive packaging. The pricing was also reasonable.
I contacted a consultant who I had seen on social media and she sent out samples right away but before they even arrived, I had placed my first order. Then on December 14, 2013, I joined! But once I did try the products I was even more in love!
Awesome Products, Travel, and Family
In the time since I joined, I have traveled to places I had never been like Las Vegas or Atlanta for conventions. I also visited some places that were not so new like Nashville and Dallas for Day Aways (like a mini convention. I even won an all expenses paid trip for two to Salt Lake City to be the tour guide for the new Perfectly Posh Home Office! (Check out that video here – it will open in a new window)
But aside from the products and the traveling, I have met an amazing network of women and men business owners both with Perfectly Posh and a local networking group. Belonging to these families has helped me to step out of my shell a little more and I cannot stress enough how much their support has helped me both professionally as well as personally.
How and Why I Share
When you own a Perfectly Posh business you are encouraged to work it as it fits into your life. That may be full time, doing a couple of parties a month, or just doing portable/online/facebook parties. I have stuck with the slow and steady plan due to my full-time job and endometriosis diagnosis which reared its ugly head shortly after I joined. Through everything, my team has continued to move up the pay plan including a rank advancement when I was in the operating room!
I am so excited to share Perfectly Posh with you because I believe there is something for everyone. I believe everyone needs to be aware that the products that you use on your skin matter.
YOU DESERVE IT!
